The global economy has entered an era of great uncertainty, with an increased risk of cascading crises in the future resulting from a combination of climatic, health and human-caused events with potentially disastrous socioeconomic consequences. The economy of Tunisia has been heavily affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, and the country is particularly vulnerable to climate change and its economic and social consequences. Tunisia, like all North African countries, must change its development model to integrate resilience to future shocks as a central pillar and design public policies based on a systemic approach to future risks.
