Workshop on “Migration Statistics and the Recognition of Migrants’ Skills in Zimbabwe”, 6-7 June 2023, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Economic Commission for Africa in collaboration with International Labour Organization organize a workshop to discuss the findings and recommendations of a study carried out to assess the availability of migration statistics in Zimbabwe and to also deliver a capacity building training sessions for stakeholders on the production of labour migration statistics and recognition of migrants’ skills.
The overall objectives of the workshop are:
- To present and discuss the final report on Migration Statistics in Zimbabwe prepared by UNECA in consultation with the technical working group,
- To share experiences on labour migration statistics and recognition of migrants’ skills with Zimbabwean stakeholders from the private sector, NGOs, academia, and international organizations,
- To share experiences from other African countries on migration governance,
- To conduct capacity building sessions on labour migration statistics to improve the collection and management of migration data in Zimbabwe among different sectors.
